It’s the morning after the night before, you’ve danced the last of 2016 away and you’re feeling the effects of those last 3 shots of tequila. We thought we’d be kind and help to get your reproductive journey on track for 2017 with a fertility boosting hangover cure.

Although there’s no single solution to cure a hangover there are certainly a few things which can help alleviate some of the symptoms!

Get Hydrated!

It might seem simple but it’s key! Water won’t just help to flush the sins from the night before away, it’s essential for maintaining bodily function and processes and plays an important role in keeping your cervical mucus healthy. this is essential in ensuring sperm can make that tiring journey to your egg!

Feeling hungry?!

If you’ve spent the night hugging the porcelain throne then you might be feeling a tad bit fragile and hungry. We can’t guarantee to halt the big dipper churning around in your stomach but getting some wholesome, gluten free carbs into your system can definitely help to stabilise your blood sugar levels.

Tip! Try some gluten free toast with ackee as a healthier alternative to replace eggs if you’re finding the idea of eggs a little hard to stomach. The high fiber content in ackee is also a great way to regulate glucose and insulin levels in the blood. Ackee also boasts an impressive range of beneficial fatty acids, including stearic, linoleic, and palmitic acids.

Beat That Headache

When that headache hits we know it can be tempting to grab some pain meds and hope you can sleep the rest of the day away under the covers. it’s important to stick to non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin or ibuprofen. Don’t take tylenol or similar drugs which, although fine for a headache can cause liver damage or potentially be fatal.

Get Out!

One drink—5 ounces of wine, or 1.5 ounces of spirit—is metabolised by your body in about an hour, so “sweating it out” is a myth. The last thing you’ll want to do is get up and do a spin class but the endorphin release could boost your mood. Try a brisk walk for 15-20 minutes depending upon how you feel. Just make sure you keep some water to hand so you don’t become even more dehydrated.

Relax and ride it out. You’re a grown woman, you can live young wild and free but try to remember to keep your reproductive journey on track as you head for that night out in the future. Remember to eat before you head out to help absorb some of the alcohol, try to drink a glass of water for every alcoholic drink you have to stay hydrated and remember stay safe!
